Step Ahead
Step Ahead
Step Ahead is a new strand within the Steps to Work programme, which offers learners the opportunity to improve their long-term employment prospects through a temporary job.
The jobs will be within the voluntary and community sector, for example, environmental organisations, charities, sports clubs and church organisations.
Learners will have a real job lasting up to 26 weeks where you will be paid a wage. They will also be given the opportunity to:
- undertake an accredited training course while in the job (receiving £100 bonus on achieving this qualification).
- access to extra one to one support to help them settle in and stay in the job.
- access to a Job Coach who will offer assistance with active job search, development of a CV and job applications .
If your organisation is interested in providing a job opportunity for 30 hours per week for at least six months, to someone who has been on benefits and out of work continuously for 30 months or more, contact your local Jobs and Benefits office / JobCentre or get in touch with your nearest Steps to Work Lead Contractor as follows:
