Realise Your Potential with EGSA

03-02-09

Realising Your Potential (RYP) and Developing Your Potential (DYP) are 12 hour workshops based on guidance principles. The workshops are aimed at anygroup of adults in the community or workplace who could benefit from engaging or progressing in learning.

They are delivered by EGSA Advisers and are accredited at OCN NI Levels 1 and 2 respectively. They aim to:
  • Enable adults to take stock of their skills
  • Create an interest in and awareness of learning opportunities
  • Identify personal life, work and learning goals, in a supportive and enjoyable group atmosphere
EGSA has won two awards for this innovative programme. They received a National Career award from the Institute of Career Guidance in 2007 – the first time such an award has been given to organisation in N Ireland.

In 2008, they were also successful in winning a National Training Award, organised in N Ireland by the Department for Employment and Learning.

Previous RYP participants have commented;

“I’ve never sat down and thought about my future like this.”

“The Realising Your Potential course has helped me re-assess what is important in life and helped me set new goals.”

A manager from a Health and Social Care Trust commented;

“RYP provided staff with a tremendous boost to their self-confidence and most are now embarking on additional training.”
